Cheddar & Chive Scones using PureLiving Sprouted Flours

Sprouted Cheddar & Chive Scones
Makes 8 scones


1 C. PureLiving Organic Sprouted Spelt Flour

1/4 C. PureLiving Sprouted Quinoa Flour

3/4 C. PureLiving Sprouted Brown Rice Flour

1 Tbsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. Shiloh Farms Himalayan Pink Salt

1/2 tsp. black pepper


5 Tbsp. cold butter, cut into 1/2″ cubes

3/4 C. plain yogurt

1 egg

3/4 C. sharp cheddar cheese, grated

2 Tbsp. fresh chives, chopped


1.  Preheat oven to 400°

2.  In bowl of food processor, thoroughly mix dry ingredients; add butter and pulse until no large pieces remain

3.  Add yogurt and egg; pulse 3-4 times until dough forms

4.  Add cheddar and chives and pulse to incorporate; do not over-mix

5.  Turn dough out onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper; pat into round and cut into 8 pieces (dough will be sticky, so use extra flour as needed)

6.  Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown; remove from oven and follow score lines to cut into individual pieces; allow to cool slightly before serving


Gluten Free? For a wheat-free scone, substitute an equal amount of PureLiving Organic Sprouted Buckwheat Flour for the Spelt Flour.
