Gluten Free Pecan Bars with PureLiving Sprouted Flours

Gluten Free Pecan Bars
Makes about 2.5 dozen

1 recipe Gluten Free Sugar Crust (below)

1 C. brown sugar

1/3 C. date syrup (such as Date Lady)

1/3 C. Shiloh Farms Alfalfa Honey

8 Tbsp. butter, melted and cooled

2 Tbsp. bourbon

1 tsp. Shiloh Farms Himalayan Pink Salt

2 large eggs, lightly beaten

3 C. Shiloh Farms Organic Pecan Pieces, toasted

1 C. Shiloh Farms Allergen Free Dark Chocolate Chips


1.  Preheat oven to 350°

2.  Press crust mixture evenly into the bottom of lightly greased 9″ x 13″ baking pan

3.  Bake crust in preheated oven for 20 minutes; while baking, prepare the filling

4.  Thoroughly combine brown sugar, syrup, honey, butter, bourbon, salt, and eggs

5.  Remove crust from the oven, leaving the oven set to 350°; pour brown sugar mixture evenly over the crust while it is still warm

6.  Sprinkle pecans, then chocolate chips, over the filling mixture

7.  Bake in preheated oven until filling is just set, about 30 minutes

8.  Cool on wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing

Gluten Free Sugar Crust

1 1/2 C. PureLiving Sprouted Brown Rice Flour

1/2 C. Shiloh Farms Tapioca Flour

1/2 C. Shiloh Farms Almond Flour

2/3 C. Shiloh Farms Organic Date Sugar

3/4 tsp. Shiloh Farms Himalayan Pink Salt

6 Tbsp. coconut oil

2 Tbsp. cold water


1.  Add all of the dry ingredients (through salt) to the bowl of a food processor fitted with a metal blade; pulse 4-5 times to combine

2.  Distribute coconut oil evenly over top of dry mixture; process 15-30 seconds, or until it has the consistency of moist sand

3.  Add water and pulse to combine into a crumbly mass; dough is now ready for use
